Fabric & fit details

Linen-cotton blend construction
We source our European flax from certified growers in France and Belgium, where cooler climates produce longer, stronger fibers. The flax is spun with combed long-staple cotton to create a balanced blend that captures linen’s natural breathability while adding the smooth hand and durability cotton provides.
Our casaluna linen bedding undergoes an enzyme stonewash process that breaks down natural pectins in the flax without harsh chemicals. This treatment creates the signature lived-in texture and soft drape from the first night, eliminating the stiff feel of untreated linen. The midweight fabric (180 GSM) offers substantial quality without excess bulk, allowing the duvet cover to drape naturally over your comforter while remaining easy to handle during washing and bed making.

Sizing and fit guidance
Choosing your duvet cover size
Our full/queen duvet cover measures 88″ × 92″ and fits standard full and queen comforters or duvet inserts up to 86″ × 90″. The king/California king size measures 104″ × 92″ and accommodates both king (102″ × 90″) and California king (104″ × 92″) inserts with proper coverage.
The interior corner ties attach to loops or tabs on most duvet inserts to prevent shifting during sleep. If your insert lacks attachment points, the generous sizing and natural weight of the linen blend help keep the insert centered. For maximum security, we recommend pairing this set with duvet inserts from our duvet cover collection that include coordinating corner loops.
Care and maintenance
Machine wash your Casaluna linen blend duvet set in cold or warm water on a gentle cycle with mild liquid detergent. Avoid powder detergents and bleach, which can settle in linen’s natural texture and cause uneven fading.
Tumble dry on low heat and remove while slightly damp to minimize wrinkles, or line dry for ultimate fabric longevity. The linen-cotton blend naturally releases wrinkles as it dries on the bed, so ironing is optional. If you prefer a crisper look, iron while damp on the linen setting. The fabric becomes noticeably softer after 3-5 washes as natural fibers relax and bloom, developing the signature relaxed texture linen bedding is known for.

Casaluna linen duvet cover set questions
The duvet cover is pre-washed and pre-shrunk during our stonewashing process, so significant shrinkage is minimal. You may notice 1-2% additional relaxation after the first home wash, which is normal for natural fiber blends.
To minimize any shrinkage, wash in cold or warm water and tumble dry on low heat. Remove while slightly damp and allow to finish air-drying on your bed for best results. Avoid high heat, which can cause excessive shrinkage in both linen and cotton fibers.
Our duvet cover includes four interior corner ties that attach to loops or tabs on most standard duvet inserts. Thread each tie through the corresponding corner loop on your insert and tie securely before buttoning the cover closed.
If your insert doesn't have attachment points, the generous sizing and natural weight of the linen blend fabric help keep the insert centered. For best performance, pair with our down alternative duvet insert, which includes coordinating corner loops designed specifically for tie attachment.
Our 55% linen, 45% cotton blend offers a middle ground between pure linen's texture and cotton's softness. The linen provides breathability and natural temperature regulation, while the cotton adds durability, reduces wrinkling, and creates a smoother initial hand feel.
Pure linen bedding typically feels stiffer initially and requires more washes to soften fully. It also wrinkles more readily and can be slightly more expensive. Our blend delivers linen's best qualities with easier care and immediate comfort at a more accessible price point.
Yes, the duvet cover works with both traditional comforters and duvet inserts. Make sure your comforter dimensions match the cover size—full/queen comforters should be no larger than 86" × 90", and king comforters no larger than 102" × 90".
The interior corner ties may not attach to comforters without loops, but the cover's sizing and weight still keep most comforters reasonably centered. For maximum security and the cleanest look, we recommend using a duvet insert with corner loops.
Natural and Stone are our most popular neutral shades that coordinate with virtually any color palette. Natural has warm cream undertones that pair beautifully with earth tones and wood furniture. Stone offers a cooler gray-beige that complements both warm and cool accent colors.
White provides a classic, crisp foundation if you prefer a brighter look, while Warm Sand adds subtle warmth without reading as beige. All eight colorways are intentionally muted to serve as versatile backdrops for layered bedding and seasonal decor changes.
Yes, the duvet cover is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, meaning it's tested for harmful substances and safe for direct skin contact. The natural linen and cotton fibers are hypoallergenic and breathable, making them gentle for most sensitive skin types.
Linen is naturally antimicrobial and moisture-wicking, which helps reduce skin irritation from trapped heat and humidity. The enzyme stonewashing process we use is chemical-free and removes natural roughness without harsh treatments. Many customers with skin sensitivities report improved comfort compared to synthetic bedding.
With proper care, you can expect 5-7 years of regular use before noticeable wear. Linen and cotton are among the most durable natural fibers, and our reinforced seams and quality button closures are designed for hundreds of wash cycles.
The fabric actually improves with age—becoming softer and developing a more relaxed drape over time. Fading is minimal in our neutral colorways, and the stonewashed finish means the fabric won't thin or pill like lower-quality bedding. Rotate with a second set if possible to extend the lifespan even further.
